The Cookin’ Catfish Club – 15/06/19
June 15 @ 8:00 pm - June 16 @ 1:00 am
Kent’s Sharpest night out returns…
This time in a cool basement club right in the heart of historic Rochester. The Billabong club, Victoria Street, just off Star Hill.(ME1 1XH) One of The Royal function rooms. Saturday June 15th, from 8pm until 1am.
Until now we’ve had great DJs, great music, great people attending, great dancers, but never quite the right venue that suited us as perfectly as it could. Now we believe we’ve found the correct, low-ceilinged, tight, dark, basement nightclub to compliment the rawest records of the 1950s & 60s. Access to the Billabong is even through a tucked away car park/yard evoking memories of 60s Soho, The Scene Club and Ham yard. We think you’ll agree when you see it, The Cookin’ Catfish has found it’s new home.
Guest DJs getting the new venue off to a flyer;
First we welcome back the unwavering force that is Lee Miller. A DJ that needs very little introduction. Prepare to dance & be ready to come away from the night with new sounds to explore in the days afterwards.
We’ve managed to talk Samantha Stevens back behind the decks again after being away too long. A record collection as great as hers should be shared publicly from time to time. Expect a varied set. From r&b & soul, through British beat, garage, Jamaican ska, early reggae & many other dancefloor pearls.
Alexzandra Sisson will be bringing the cool sounds of Stoke’s Wang Dang Doodle club down to leafy Kent. Expect dancefloor favourites spanning R&B, Soul, Hammond groovers, Latin & Jazz.
***Stop press*** We are thrilled to announce Matt East onto the bill. A legend on the mod scene and a DJ in top form at Manchester’s recent MG Blues 3rd anniversary. Expect only the sharpest sounds.
Residents Sean Cregeen, Russell Deal, Mark Perryman & Ivan Walsh will be bringing you the top club sounds of the Cookin’ Catfish. All spun before the dancefloor on original vinyl.
Sound like a bit of you? Then get yourself along on the 15th June. Tickets are available for £7 each via https://www.paypal.me/russelldeal1 or through paypal at email@example.com. please include your postal details in the notes & we’ll get them sent straight out to you. Part of the new venue’s appeal is its tighter capacity, with room for 100 paying revellers. Don’t delay, get your tickets ASAP to avoid disappointment. Groups of 5 or more, please DM for a discounted price.
The Cookin’ Catfish naturally attracts very smartly dressed people, but we do not enforce any dresscode. Just please be aware of the environment you’ll be walking into.
